Bandit, Lexi, Diesel, Elsie, Zeus and Keesha are AKC German Shepherd Dogs.  They are bred not only for their beauty but primarily for their temperament.  All six are true people pleasers, easy going and friendly. They are extremely intelligent and easy to train. They make wonderful family pets.  Their intimidating size is bound to ward off any intruders and if put to the test, we are confident, they would protect the families that they have bonded to and are one hundred percent devoted to.

OUR GERMAN SHEPHERDS
Below......Lexi.....is a black and tan GSD.  She has been bred  to Zeus.  Her puppies will be ready just in time for Christmas!
She is a large, heavy boned female German Shepherd.  She is friendly and very calm.  However, she has a very strong prey drive.  When Lexi is out......all of the kitties run for cover!!!!
BANDIT
Below.....Bandit.....is a black sable GSD.  He is our current stud dog.  All of Bandits puppies are born sables.  Please view the pictures and testimonials below, to see the different varieties of sable German Shepherds.  In many cases you will see that they have a tan chest like Lexi with a sable saddle back.  Sable puppies are born very light tan in color and continue to get darker as they get older.  In the picture of Bandit on the left Bandit is only 2 years old and on the right he is older (and darker).  Sables have a light tan undercoat and the tip of each hair is black.  You can see a very good example of this by looking at the picture of Bandit at the top of this page.

Bandit should have been named Houdini.  He is able to get out of any dog kennel known to man.  He is a genius escape artist!!!  He is also our very own greeter and is very friendly and outgoing.  We have had several offers from people wanting to buy  him.  He is not very photogenic, but he is a beautiful big (100 lb +) boy.  He gets along well with other animals and is great with the puppies!!  The little girl in the picture is of my Granddaughter Lilee.  If you ever wondered if German Shepherds are good with children you just have to take a look at that picture.  Bandit is wonderful with children.  However, we at Log Cabin Kennels always recommend adult supervision with children and any breed of dog.  Never leave children and dogs alone unsupervised!
Above is picture of Greta.  She is a grown puppy from a Bandit X Ciara puppy.  We do not own Ciara any more.  We miss Ciara, however she is now living in the lap of luxury and being spoiled rotten.  To the right is a couple of pictures of Greta (Greta is the dog on the right)  with her boyfriend Baron.  Isn't she a beautiful girl?  Bandit throws beautiful puppies with excellent temperaments.
Above and right.....Libby.....grown Bandit X Lexi puppy

"I wanted to send you a few pictures of Libby (Liberty Bell Edwards)as she is quickly becoming a big girl. She has been a wonderful addition to our home. My husband and I are so impressed with how fast she picked up her basic obedience training. She love playing with our two boys 12 and 7 she even loves our cats. (They are not too into all her loving.) Anyway, Libby is a beautiful well behaved girl. She enjoys playing catch and going for walks. She is an indoor baby but she does love playing in the snow. Her favorite toy is her teddy bear which she gets for us as well as her other toys by verbal command. Thank you so much Lexi and Bandit for giving us such a super dog."

Pictures and Testimonials
We often receive emails and pictures from people that have purchased puppies from us in the past.  We LOVE getting pictures!!!!!  Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to share your pictures and comments with us......please see below:
Above is a picture of one of Lexi and Bandits grown male puppies, Logan,  from a previous litter.  Isn't he beautiful!!!! Per his owner he weighs 90 pounds.  Below is a quote from an email that I recently received from his owner:

"He's got the best disposition!  He's a star everywhere we go.  People will stop us to tell us how beautiful he is and they're all impressed with how smart & sweet he is."

Below is an email that I received in November of 2008 from Logan family.  He is still doing great:

Logan is now over 2 years old now.  He’s such a ham!  Everyone who knows him loves him.  We think he’s a spoiled favorite where he’s groomed and attends doggy daycare.  Though he never got official professional training he knows anything and everything  dog like this should and one day the playcare attendant asked me if he had professional training and I said no he just learns quickly.  He was stunned and said, “he does *EVERYTHING* he’s told!”  Every day we pick him up he gets a rave review of how much of a good boy he is.  He’s now 105 lbs and still thinks he’s a little fellow.  He almost knocks you over with loving affection if he’s excited and he makes really funny high pitched noises that we translate as “I love you, love you, love you!!!.. now let’s play!”  We recently had our first child and Logan instantly knew how to behave.  He sneaks a lot of sloppy kisses and never does anything terribly wrong.  On occasion
we have to tell him to leave it b/c he’s showering the baby with too much puppy love.  He instantly obeys that command.  His bark is deep and carries for blocks so strangers think, “oh my!”  But family and friends know it’s just Logan.  He’s the smartest dang dog you ever saw!  Sometimes that’s a problem.  He’s figured out how to open the gates to the yard, so we had to get locks.  He figured out how to open the screen & sliding glass door to the back yard so we always have to lock it or else he will let the cats out.  He’s figured out how to open sliding drawers where we keep trash & recycling and sometimes has been into trouble for that so we had to put child locks onWe think he’ll soon figure out how to open door knobs too.  This dog is unbelievable!  He’s never had a problem with anyone that didn’t warrant suspicion for another reason already.  It puts my mind at ease knowing that he’s around b/c he knows
anytime anyone is within 100 yards of the house even if he’s inside and all the windows and doors are shut!  He is an absolute delight to introduce to new people.  We’ve taken him on long road trips and people are astounded at his brilliant mind and splendid personality including people who don’t even like dogs!  A leash is not necessary for him as he obeys our commands… it is only necessary to put strangers minds at ease because they would freak out if they saw him off leash and didn’t know him due to his size and bark.  I just can’t say enough!  If I could clone him, I would!

"She can sit, shake hands, and give high five.  Her favorite thing to do is play ball.  She has lots of toys and gets them all out to play with, I wish we could teach her to pick them up.  She doesn't like it when we pick them up and put them away, if she sees us do it, she'll get them right back out.
She gets along well with our 2 cocker spaniels, but she likes to chase the cats!  She does very well with our 3 grandkids too.  They aren't too sure about her because she is so big (their ages are 11/2,2 and 3)  so she does seem very big to them.  After they're around for awhile and realize how gentle she is then they are fine with her.
I think she's happy in her new home.  She was spayed and micro-chipped on Dec. 19., our
vet is very pleased with her."
Below...this is Shautzee (Tink), she is out of Lexi's last litter born 8/19/07...above is a picture of her sister Roxi.
Above....This is Bella.....she is a female from a previous litter. Below is an email sent from her owner

We wanted to
tell you how happy we are to have Bella in our family.  Bella looks so
much like her mom Lexi.   She is a great dog and very smart too.  The
whole family loves her.  I thought you might like to see how she has
grown.  I've attached a couple of pictures.  She's going to be the big 1
year old next Wednesday (January 9th).  Thank you for adding so much joy
to our family.  She is so much fun...
Left....this is Dakota and below are a few of the comments that Dakota's new owner stated in an email to us.

"Just thought we would send a few pictures of Dakota
She is so sweet, and has been the best puppy I have ever had
She is very loving, and sometimes a big baby
We have been through three dog training classes, and all the people comment on
what a beautiful, and sweet dog she is."
Below......This is Duke.  He is a Bandit X Lexi puppy from a previous litter.  He is not quite 8 months old in these pictures and weighs approximately 70 pounds.  Please see owners comments below.
"II am extremely happy with him (Duke) and his disposition. He plays with my 2 and a half year old niece and is very gentle with her. One of my friends has an Alaskan Malamute and a female mixed lab so he plays with them a lot. He gets enough socialization so I opted not to take him to parks - I do not trust owners I don't know.
Also, my friend just got a 7 week old Australian Shepherd and Duke is very gentle around her too!"
Right, above and below....Diesel.....He is a black and red male. He is the newest addition to our kennels. We are VERY excited about him.  He is 8 months old in these pictures and still has some growing to do, but already  he is a big boy, almost as big as Bandit weighing approximately 85 pounds.  He has an absolutely perfect confirmation and deep red pigment.  He is very confident, calm and well behaved.  VERY VERY intelligent.  He has an excellent German pedigree which I will post soon. THIS DOG IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!
Above are pictures of Maverik and Annabelle, from Bandit and Lexi's February 2008 litter.  Brother and sister.  Very well trained to sit so nicely off leash.  They are young.....but smart.......just beautiful!!!!
This is Yeager.....he is a Bandit X Lexi puppy from Lexi's 2008 litter.  He is about 8 months old in this picture.  What a beautiful boy....sweet and smart too.  He is happily living in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Below is Elsie.  She is a black and tan female.  Her mother is Lexi's sister.  She is half American half German bred.  Elsie has one ear that did not stand completely.  She was injured when she was a puppy and has a nick on the edge of her ear where the ear bends.  It is not a genetic defect.  Elsie has been bred to Zeus.  Pupppies will be ready in mid January 2010.  She is an active girl and very smart.  She loves to go for walks.
Left and below.....Bandit X Lexi 08 puppy.....beautiful....please read comments below:

My family and I had the first pick of last year's litter.  I just wanted to give you an update on how she is doing.  The puppy's name is Libby Lee Rose.  She has the best personality of any pet that I have personally owned.  She is always happy, excited, and very loving. She is such a big part of the family.  She has adapted wonderfully with the other pets in the family.  Her best friend is our other dog Teddy. But we rescued a two week old baby squirrel last fall and the two of them chase each other around the house like the squirrel was a dog.  It is so amazing how she adapts.  We also have a bird, rabbit, frog, and a lizzard.  She is friendly to all of them.  She is an inside pet, actually inside my bed at night.  She loves playing outside, especially in the snow.  I cannot thank you enough for such a great pet.  Here are some pictures of the first time she was in the snow, and her first Christmas.

We have started a waiting list for the Zeus X Elsie litter.  Please email us or call the number listed below to be added to their waiting list.  These puppies will sell for $1000.00 each.

Above and right....Zeus...He is a black and tan American bred GSD.  He is 2 1/2 years old in these pictures.  The picture above shows him with his full winter coat.  He is big boned and very masculine looking with a big wide head.  He weighs approximately 90 pounds.  He has a very sweet, calm temperament.  He wants to be your right hand man and never leaves your side.  (he has a little scratch on his nose in some of these pictures)  We are very excited about breeding him to Lexi this summer (2009) I'm sure they will be very pretty black and tan puppies!
Logan and his baby brother Cal.  He  looks so cute in this picture, like Cal's babysitter.  This picture was taken in May of 2009.  What a good boy!
Above is a picture of Keesha.  She is a sable German Shepherd with mostly American blood lines.  She is a puppy that we kept back from Lexi and Bandits last litter.  She is about 6 months old in the left picture.  9 months old in the picture on the right.  We named her after Bandits mother who was an outstanding German Shepherd.  She is the dog that made me fall in love with the breed.  We will be breeding Keesha in the future.  Keesha is an outstanding puppy, just like her Grandmother!  Very calm and listens and responds very well.  You can see the intelligence in her eyes in these picture.
" I thought you might like to see photo's of Thunder. He is almost 7 months old now and he is so wonderful. Everyone comments on how gorgeous he is. He has the BEST personality as well. Thunder loves to check on our daughter at night when she goes to bed and he'll lay down outside her bedroom door most of the night to protect her. He loves the cooler crisp autumn weather too. He is a blessing to us and we are so happy to have him.   He loves to go for rides in the car and LOVES swimming in our pond! I've never seen a German Shepard love swimming so much.
Thanks for the best dog ever!
Michelle"
Above and right.......Thunder.....isn't he beautiful!  He is a Bandit X Lexi puppy.  This puppy was shipped all the way to Conneticut in May of 2009.  Please read the comments below that his owner emailed to us in October of 2009.
"I wanted to give you an update on Kaylee, who was red collar female from Lexi's spring litter last year. She is doing wonderfully and has been a great addition to our family. She graduated from advanced training at Petsmart about a month ago, and I hope to get her CGC this spring. We also started a tracking class through Gateway Tracking Club in November; she took to it instantly and is doing great. If I can manage to get myself properly trained, we're going to try for the Tracking Dog title as well in the spring. She loves to play outside and go for neighborhood walks and hikes. We took her camping in October and she had a blast, and we look forward to longer trips next year. She clearly understands the need to settle down in the house and her favorite place to nap is on the couch right next to me. She doesn't understand why the cats won't play with her, but doesn't chase or bother them, and she plays very gently with our older small dog. Overall, she has brought us a lot of joy, and we can't imagine our lives without her. Thank you again for this sweet and intelligent addition to out family!  Angela Anderson"
Above and left.......Kaylee.....she is a lucky girl living a wonderful life traveling and exploring with her family.  She is a Bandit X Lexi puppy , born in February of 2009.  Please read the comments below that were sent to me from her happy owners in January 2010........
